Overview
LANTraffic V2 and IP
Traffic Test & Measure are
powerful software testing
tools for automatic
generation of TCP and UDP
traffic. User can specify configuration
parameters to shape and
control traffic load.
Networks and
devices (terminals,
gateways, routers, PBX...) may be
tested for voice, fax, data
or multimedia transmission over IP.
Software comprises of two parts:

each connection is
configured separately
or 'automatic' mode
where all connections
are generated as a

Replay
Traffic
Measure and capture data
performance of a chosen
network in real time using a
sniffer module and then
re-create this performance
using IP Traffic Test &
Measure software in a
simulated lab environment.
Global
Traffic Observer
On-line or off-line analysis
of many QoS parameters (send
and receive) including
throughputs, inter-packet
delay, packet erasure rate
(PER) and packet transit
delay. The user may
configure parameters and
statistics to export for
report generation.
Replay
Data
The sniffer module can
record real data carried
over an IP network and
replay this data using the
'IP Traffic Generator'
module.
Remote
Control
A local PC running IP
Traffic Test & Measure
software can control a
remote PC running the same
software.
Reference
Clock and Synchronization
Two hardware options are
available for the IP Traffic
Test & Measure host PC,
one to provide a highly
accurate reference clock
(Z-Clock option) and the
other to synchronize two
host PC's at different
locations (GPS option). The
GPS option allows accurate
measurement of end-to-end
performance and quality of
service over any fixed or
mobile network.

- Impairment

Software
Overview
NetDisturb
is an IP network emulator software that can generate
impairments (latency, delay,
jitter, limited bandwidth
and lost packets) over IP
networks. NetDisturb allows
the user to disturb flows on
an IP network and so study
the behavior of
applications, devices or
services in a disturbed
network environment. NetDisturb is
inserted between two
Ethernet segments (on the
same IP network or two different
IP networks) and operates
bi-directional packet
transfer on Ethernet,
Fast Ethernet and Gigabit
Ethernet(10/100/1000)
network interface cards.

Qualify and evaluate the
performance of IP networks
and network equipment.
Configuration of IP
Equipment: Define
different QoS levels in an
Intranet or Internet
environment to configure
terminals, gateways and
routers.
Test Laboratories:
NetDisturb provides
repeatable QoS on different
flows using configuration
mode and values (latency,
delay, jitter, limited
bandwidth and lost packets) created and saved by
the user.
The NetDisturb software
comprises of two parts
'server' and 'client' where
the server handles the
impairment characteristics
and the client manages the
server using a simple
graphical interface. This
allows two configurations
where the server and client
parts may be installed on
the same PC host or the
client part resides on one
PC and the server part
resides on a second PC. Both
configurations require two
identical 10/100 or
10/100/1000 Ethernet Cards, PC host/s with a
minimum screen resolution of
800 x 600 and Windows NT4
(SP6), Windows 2000 or
Windows XP.
