NuStreams-2000 is
an advanced Ethernet test system
for Layer 2 to 7 and
wire-speed Layer 2 and
Layer 3 IP packet
generation for testing of multiple
DUT's (Device
Under Test).
Designed for testing in
the laboratory
and in manufacturing
it's hardware can be
structured as a chain of
chassis via the
front-panel connections.
Each chassis is
capable of holding up to
two switch cards and 16
module cards of
10/100/1000
Ethernet. Remote
monitoring and
control is provided
by Client-Server architecture
in host application using
NuStreams Window software
program which provides
complete configuration,
control, and monitoring of
all DUT's. NuStreams Window
provides Group Panel for
simultaneous
configuration/control of packets through
the selected ports. X-Trailer
appendage function
provides verification of
the forwarding packets. The front panel display of
NuStreams-2000 provides
information on link status, transmission
/ reception of packets
and error conditions.
Receive counters reveal
detailed test
information,
NuStreams-2000 is driven
by an Intel Pentium based
IPC running Windows 2000
and NuStreams supplied
software. Each chassis
accepts monitor, keyboard and
mouse.
NuStreams-600 is
usually connected to an
Ethernet network.
Control under
NuStreams Window
or C++ API based
software on an
external
workstation.
NuStreams software
runs on Windows
NT, 2000 and XP.

built-in
tests:
Light
Duty,
Heavy
Duty, and
Performance
Test.
In Light
Duty and Heavy
Duty tests,
packets
are
transmitted
to the DUT
for a user
defined
duration
and a pass
/ fail
indication
is given
at the end
of the
test. In
Performance
Test, a
DUT's
performance
is
automatically
determined
and latency
shown upon
user
termination
of the
test. To
simplify
test
setting
and save
time, each
test has
its own
pre-defined
settings
for
utilization,
packet
length
and
padding.
Settings
such as
number of
ports
tested,
packet
transmission
duration and the
tolerance
for lost
packets
are
adjustable
for
individual
test. No
software
effort or
special
technical
know-how
is needed
for
setup
test.
It
takes less
than 15
seconds to
configure
NuStreams-85.
Once the
test
settings
are
configured,
no
reconfiguration
is needed
for
testing
the same
DUT model.
The
settings
are kept
in
non-volatile
memory and
are
automatically
reloaded
upon power
on.
Depending
on test
settings
NuStreams-85

complete testing a
